The Philippine Furniture Training Center (PFTC) was spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industry alongside the Pampanga Furniture Industries Foundation (previously known as the Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines Pampanga Chapter). This initiative, which took off on November 12, 1996, through a partnership with the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI), the Mount Pinatubo Commission (MPC), and PFIF, Inc., aims to offer advanced skills training in furniture manufacturing. Leveraging cutting-edge technology and equipment, the PFTC is dedicated to enhancing the proficiency of individuals in the furniture production sector.
Operated by PFIF, Inc., the PFTC has consistently delivered targeted training programs to a broad spectrum of participants, including manufacturers and academic institutions both within and beyond Pampanga. Its efforts have significantly contributed to bolstering the nation’s investment in a highly competitive workforce for the furniture industry. Additionally, the FTC functions as a Shared Service Facility, providing essential support to furniture manufacturers to meet their production requirements effectively.
To date, the center has executed 102 skills training sessions, benefiting 1,395 participants from 78 different companies. These training initiatives have not only equipped graduates with vital skills but also facilitated their immersion and subsequent employment within member firms of the organization.
The PFTC has undeniably played a pivotal role in enhancing the caliber of the local furniture industry by broadening the scope of educational opportunities and elevating the standards of skill development.
